Orientation in Time

Body

Chidester uses bodily time in a ritualistic way for orientation in time. How members of a particular religion treat their mind and body in relation to their religion and community. Members of Q-Anon do their part to maintain their minds for the community by doing research into emerging theories and to become a more intimate community. Q-Anon followers rely on the internet for their research, and most of them do more research every day. They balance their research with their day-to-day lives but stay loyal to their religion of Q-Anon.

Historical

Orientation in time historically, is defined by the collective memory of the group. Q-Anon supporters view the recent past as telling and dangerous. Q-Anon wants their community to be liberated. They want Americans to realize what the cabal is doing in order to overthrow it and create a better future for themselves. Most Q-Anon members would agree on how past events happened even if it isn’t accurate. Many Q-Anon believers think that 9/11 was done by the US government and that COVID isn’t real. These beliefs are so far-fetched and might have not even been certain members’ original views, but it’s what they have all decided to be the collective memory. Whatever the theorists, politicians, and “Q” decided happened in the past, is what Q-Anon members take as the truth and what becomes the collective memory.

Cosmic

Chidester uses myths to define cosmic orientation in time. Q-Anon orients itself in cosmic time with myths and anonymity of Q. Q first emerged on an online bulletin website. With no profile or qualifications, Q managed to gain massive support and had thousands of people believing what they were saying. The mystery of Q’s identity creates a myth of its origin. The origin of Q-Anon is much more recent than most religions but still has the element of myth regardless. Q-Anons myth is modern day since it originated online.
